Sam Jones, The Heart of Glouster Documentary
Jan 23, 2010 7 pm. Sam Jones, The Heart of Glouster is a short documentary directed by Melissa forte. Once a National Bando Champion Boxer, now a home town hero and mentor, Sam Jones has the natural ability to inspire people and help them to make the best of their lives. He doesn't do it with a motivational speech or a class on self improvement, he does it by simply giving back to his community the best way he knows how. His life has been boxing and he uses the sport to encourage people to Be a Champion in Life. That's the motto stated on a plaque hanging in Sam's Gym, located on the main strip through Glouster. The gym is the place you'll often find Sam, working with his professional boxers all the way down to the youngest 5 year old future boxer, and every age between. This documentary, highlights the importance for community service and compassion. In this small southeastern Ohio town, one of the poorest in the state, there is a gem, a man many look at as a father. You'll be inspired by his story, engaged by his storytelling and motivated to use your talents to give back to others.
